Untitled poem about a werewolf living in a human world, enjoy

The blood of a wolf Ran thick through her veins Howled at the moon But wore dresses by day Her secret kept tight Like a knot in wool rope But hands can unravel What claws mend with hope She lived in the city Not fit for the wild Among them she walked Blending in with a smile Then along came a man Who took her as strange Human appearance But her eyes seemed to change Curious, he greeted her On a bench in the park Asked her what brought her Out there after dark She told him that she Could ask him the same Then said to think twice Before he had his way He laughed and ensured her He meant her no harm Gestured a walk As he held out his arm Flattered but nervous She shyly complied If only he knew Of the secret she hides But how lovely it was To connect with someone Years spent reserved Missing out on the fun The two became one But she held back her kiss Keeping her lover At a cozy distance The full moon was near She knew it must end How he could not love a beast How they could never be friends They met at the bench As they had every evening She took a deep breath And prepared for her leaving But this time was different He seemed at peace on this night Holding her hand As he watched the moon rise "Isn't it beautiful?" He said "I can't be with you..." "Don't worry, my dear.. I'm a wolf too." (edited)
