I feel that the monsters at play are bigger than we can see. This 2 party system has never provided and no matter who has been in office or in seat of power- we see ZERO beneficial results regardless. If there's democrats in office- the Republicans have more things to complain about and the democratic population has more reasons to hide their face in shame. And when there's Republicans in power and office the democrats have more reason to complain and the Republican population hides their face in shame. None of the selected have ever represented the actual population and done anything for any of us. That's the truth. And if they had intentions to do otherwise they get bought out fairly quickly. This system divides us over and over and over again. We will eventually only be able to tolerate ourselves. Color against color, class against class, age against age, ability against ability, sex against sex, thought process against thought process, trauma against no-trauma...and so on. I don't know what would need to take place in order for real change to occur. I'd love to see Earth as eutopia but that would require zero governance. I hate the HATE that exists with in the systems. Everything has been hijacked and money is the root of everything evil.

Less corruption and the candidates are way more accessible than senators and presidential candidates. Local government is where we can make the most change!!! Problem with American politics is there is only a 2 party system, one that is right leaning and the other that is so far right they tried to overthrow the last major election. There is no left party, and the Democrats are barely left enough to be centrists. There is no candidate in America left enough to campaign on things like universal basic income, paying for people to get a higher education (as in free college + paid on top of that to do it), free healthcare to lower costs with preventive care, abolishing most prisons in favor of mental institutions, restructuring the entire FDA to crack down on most processed foods, among many other things that are actual left positions, not American 'left's. Many left leaning countries have done some amount of that to a lesser degree, with that lesser degree being the center, whereas America's center is just a less worse right leaning version of everything.

I might have a controversial stand on this. I think that if you only vote with your heart, that you didn't inform yourself or only did for the candidate you were going to vote and not the other side then you should probably not vote. If you didn't do proper research this election, please do it for the next one. If at the end you can't name one good thing from each side, then maybe you should keep searching. Try to understand the other side and why they think it's the right one to vote for. Help heal the division with understanding. You shouldn't be afraid to change side or to be wrong.
