How accurate do you believe MBTI personalities are?

Inspired by my psychology professor. Personality quizzes online are at times a hit or miss, but one thing they have in common is their very general descriptions (I'm looking at you, BuzzFeed). For example: "You are an individual with great enthusiasm about the things you enjoy most." Surely that's a circular reference - the things you enjoy most would imply you have great enthusiasm about them, right? Not sure why that would specify me being a Labrador retriever, a Hermione Granger or any of a hundred different personalities. Myers-Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI) are perhaps most well-known because of their simplicity. But how much of this is accurate assignment, and how much of this is over-generalized definition? Do descriptions of "this is what all ESFJs are like" resonate with you, and do the compatibility meters align with what you experience in real life? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Believe it or not... Not everyone has great enthusiasm about anything 😅 I believe you've gotta delve deeper into MBTI and enneagrams to get more accurate descriptions though. But if you're looking at sites say "16personalities", yea there'll be a whole lot of statements that'll flatter and fit anyone.

I'm personally skeptical about categorical divisions of something as layered and nuanced as personality, which is what most internet famous personality quizzes do. MBTI has had it's place and definitely it feels nice to read about oneself but i feel it's also hugely narrow (since it's based on our perception of ourself) and also very self-fulfilling. For eg, i used to growing up feel I'd be more Slytherin (idk, it was the phase of being "different/edgy/whateverweirdteen thing i had going on) and every Pottermore sorted me into it, not so much so cause it was accurate but also because i answered questions on how i think i saw myself. Few years down, it changed to Ravenclaw then Hufflepuff, so 🤔🤔.

It's proven to be not very accurate, psychologists themselves actually prefer the big five test. MBTI is actually quite redundant and not encouraged by psychologists
