Freud introduced several influential concepts, including the Oedipus complex, dream analysis, and the structural model of the psyche divided into the id, ego, and superego.

He retracted what he said about pedophila, which he had written about in The Aetiology of Hysteria. "The Aetiology of Hysteria (German: Zur Ätiologie der Hysterie) is a paper by Sigmund Freud about the sexual abuse of children below the age of puberty and its possible causation of mental illness in adults. Presented in April or May 1896,[1] it is where Freud first outlined his seduction theory." He later found other explanations for the behavior, but he was right the first time, so who knows what made him go back on it.

He simply had emotional issues of his own. Otherwise, he did contribute a plethora of knowledge to the subject of psychology. Most who are familiar with the practice see him as the polar opposite of Carl Jung. But they both have valid points.
