We tend to quantify our happiness relative to our expectations. Those expectations come from other ppl around us. We also tend to hope good things happen to good ppl and bad things should happen to bad ppl however... What have you done that makes YOU worthy of more happiness relative to others. One should not make this mistake and view happiness as a reward to their worthiness or a payback for their good deeds or reaching some presets .Doing so will only lead to misery and disappointment . You don't earn happiness by working on it , just do your thing and hope it comes on its own 😉😏

These are all subjective conjectures, but if we stretch the timeline, it does works. The more you give, the more you get. Sometimes people need to lower down their expectations to avoid disappointments. When there’s sadness there’s a joy. People can’t be happy all the time, emotions are like sunrises and sunset, all we need to know is when you are in bad mood, you know the happiness must will come to you sooner or later and vice versa. All you need to do is calming down and wait. It’s not a big deal.

Who am I to judge whether my happiness is earned or not. I am responsible for my emotions and ultimately my own happiness. It's hard to make others happy if one can't do it for themselves. I personally feel that it's unfair to hold expectations for others so I do my best not to. I take the energy into consideration and adjust my reactions and my life accordingly. I do my best to separate my thoughts of self worth from my ideas of happiness because that's what brings me the most happiness. I love this question by the way! 🥰

Honestly, I don't think we should focus on pursuing happiness because happiness is a temporary emotion. We should pursue contentment. Contentment is being okay with the moment, no expectations of heightened excited or that "warm fuzzy feeling". It's just about being okay. And we all deserve to be okay. How I pursue contentment is through developing and cultivating my interests. Finding places and spaces that nature my interests.
