I got focused on that term and I know it's derogatory so I wanted to search for what it really is. The correct terminology is attachment style. It's real and it happens. Well I also found out it's not just for women. Men can have the same issues but as it's mostly men who use the term it became know as that. The real meaning of it in a nutshell is anyone who dates a version of their absent/uncaring parent. It's is an unconscious hope of getting that parents love. Hmm. I have one seriously terrible parent, and yes I'm dealing with that. It doesn't affect my sexuality though. I have a healthy attachment style with the other sax. My problem is making real male friends.I pick people I know aren't stellar humans and and get betrayed. So why romance? Because it affects everyone. It can be a huge barrier to romance and dealing with the issues can greatly improve your love life. Always pick the wrong person? Have trust issues? Can't make a connection? Look into your attachment style and get sone help. I'm actually going to do the same. I don't like betrayal. I won't be using that phrase anymore either. It's actually not very helpful to anyone and causes self esteem issues. Romance problems? They could be solved with a little insight. And maybe the romance universe will be much more romantic and much less disappointing.
