So I was doing woodwork at a workshop and it's my first time doing it alone. We were burning our signatures into the wood and I burnt my own hand, it left a weird mark and I was wondering how long it'd take to heal and how to properly burn signatures without a risk of burning myself by accident 😅 Not sure how I managed to do it, but I think I might have been leaning in a awkward position and it might have slipped - Ellisiym (edited)

I burned myself just the other day on a pyrography project 🤭 I hope you're alright 🥺 It happens, but you could try heatsafe gloves. Or high heat silicone pads. But it also sounds like you may have been applying a lot of pressure and slipped. I myself add a lot of pressure, obsessively hoping for a perfect burnish. But I have found that you can get a nice deep mark by rotating the tool. As in, while you are burnishing, slowly work your tool in circular motions. This will ensure you make a clean and full burnish mark, without needing to press down so hard. I don't use one often, but a table vise would help free up your hands and keep them out the way of the heat

Custom Recovery suit Superman figure
