If they were really best friends they would not need walkie talkies would they some of you might not remember the first communication devices kids used wich was two soup cans with a a tiny hole in the bottom and you used string you ran it through the hole tied a knot you did this in each can and you could talk to each other as far away as you had a length of string from house to house usually that's about as far as we ever ran them we were too poor to be like the stranger things kids and any electronic devices we ever got for Christmas we had lost the backs to hold the batteries in by spring and they all ran on 9 volt batteries and do you know how you test a 9 volt battery kids with your tongue this was how much our parents hated us buying us toys just to subject us to electric shock therapy so thank your lucky stars you use lithium the right way not for therapy we didn't get Adderall or even reddlin we got beat with a belt or a paddle they bear at school and at home corporal punishment they called it at school at home it was called I'm gonna beat your ass or they would get poetic about it I'm sure you can imagine weather it was a belt an extension cord a hand or fist it was a daily occurance you learn to stay out of the peripheral you knew as soon as they walked in the door what kind of night it was gonna be car rides were really adventersome if you have never rode in the hatch of a hatch back or the bed of a truck so rusted out you could see the road going by you have not lived I was an adult before I ever rode in an extended cab pick up truck it was a normal thing for the parents to ride up front on the bench seat the bed be full of kids and the dogs too we really thought we had it made if we were in a truck that had one of those sliding rear windows that the parents would not open unless you beat on it then they would yell what do you want we tell them they say sit down and shut up and close the little window back because the sound of the air would drown out their music while us kids were suffering in the bed with no place to get out of the wind at 70 miles an hour and we walked to school 5 miles bare foot in the snow up hill both ways OK that last part is an exaggeration
