First time and yes I know I'm behind.
I just started the Hobbit, with intention to start reading The Lord of The Rings. I really like it, although I'm eating through it like a snail. I can't wait to see the rest of their journey. (Also yes it's my first time reading. I Accidentally watched the last movie first... before reading the books OR watching the other movies. The Hobbit movies are... Not good. The first one is okay, but after that they drop sharply in quality and purpose. I loved reading The Hobbit! I read it before LotR, way back when the only movies were animated. Then LotR and The Silmarillion. Enjoy your first time exploring Tolkien. PS Edit: when you're done with Tolkien, try the Elric Saga by Moorcock. And maybe The Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony. (edited)

No shame in that. I recently read both trilogies and then watched the movies. It took me almost a year to read the books. But both are good. I do like the Hobbit more, and related to Bilbo more than Frodo. I also had one of the books with me when I was on trips and went to all 48 lower states in less than a years time.

Ahhh The Witcher book series I have 3 of the 8 books in the series Is thoroughly enjoying it!
I'm still on book one of the 3 but I have started a little bit on book 2 a little bit the time of contempt because book 1 seems to play out just like tv series does and book 2 has slight differences either way I love the books , the show and game are not bad either
