What is love?
Many years ago, someone who meant the universe to me asked me what love is. I had to confess to her, at the time, that I just did not know what to tell her. Then, I went on to study all the best Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance authors I could find on the subject, from Ovid's "Ars Amatoria" to Andreas Capellanus' "De Amore", among endless others, and gave her this answer: "Love is what remains in the ruins of a relationship once all the promises, fantasies and illusions are long gone." It's not a simple answer, but I hope that YOU, as you read these lines, may contemplate what I meant... #love #philosophy #literature (edited)

The best definition i have ever found for love is in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 13. If I can try to Love like this I will have accomplished a great deal in my life. If you’re able read the entire chapter please do but here are the highlights Love is patient, kind, doesnt envy or boast, is not arrogant or rude, doesn’t insist on its own way, isnt irritable or resentful, rejoices in truths, bears, believes, hopes and endures all things and is never ending. I will never be able to love perfectly like this but i will try. (edited)

Corinthians 13 is a giant definition as someone mentioned earlier. But your short answer is also a very good one. A shorter one may also be: Love is what remains, or Love is what stays. It says it all yet leaves room for imagination. Humble. Thank you for the definition. (edited)
