Meanwhile, the city of Lamentum was divided. The wilderness beyond the city limits was home to those termed 'Evil' by the monks. These were the Freefolk, living in harmony with nature and magic, embodying freedom and the chaotic beauty of life in all its forms. As Erys grew, he felt a growing unease. The dichotomy of 'Good' and 'Evil' seemed imbalanced, the threads of his learned truth fraying at the edges. He felt drawn to the wilderness, to the Freefolk, their way of life resonating with the untamed spirit within him. Driven by curiosity and guided by this internal conflict, Erys ventured into the wilderness. There, he witnessed the harmony of chaos, the serenity in freedom, and realized the monastery's teachings were not as benign as he had believed.
