Eating out is almost always disappointing now

I got a $50 Uber Eats voucher and I didn’t want it to go to waste, since it only lasted about a month, so I took the oppurtunity to try out different restaurants around me. For one, most of what I ordered definitely felt overpriced, especially considering the quality of the food. It wasn’t disgusting, but I felt I could’ve done a better job making it myself… Bringing me to my next point, flavor, or lack thereof. Is there a shortage of spices I didn’t hear about? It’s like some of these restaurants go out of their way to make their food bland. Maybe it’s the area I’m in, but the restaurants near me leave a lot to be desired. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by my mother’s good cooking. Maybe my taste in food just matured immensely these past few years. I remember lovng McDonald’s when I was younger, but now their weird spongey meat textures scare me, and the fries aren’t as crisp as I remember them. Time to delete the Uber Eats app. At least it wasn’t my money 😂 (edited)
