My confession

Question

I start to hate memes. They are everywhere on the internet, mostly social medias. Its like a competition of who has the funnier meme/comment/reply and we just scroll through endless sea of "Hehe, next!". It seeps to normal offline life where everyone just laughs for no reason, quoting one of a billion memes out there...Come on! Where are the normal or deep conversations? Reasonable answers? No cringe replies?...Seems shallow.

Why I get my kicks just like the old days, curled up in front of my radio listening to lake wobegone and the bob hope uso tour. Now that's a riot and no mistake friend! Memes? Who needs em? You can find "normal" and deep conversations across the internet. You just gotta bother to look past the sea of memes the algorithms have determined is what interests you.
However, looking to participate in "deep" conversations on open forums tends to, IMO, lose oneself in a sea of identical answers [see the question if the day post pinned at the top of the feed], or drowned out by those with opposing views and no interest to consider another possibility.

The best normal/deep conversations are always going to happen one on one, or in small groups.

Simply, if you're tired of being flooded with memes, remove that content from your feeds. Filters are available for a reason.
