I hate the Good Doctor even though it's a good show because people in the autistic community have to align with the stereotypes on the show or no one takes you seriously when you express concerns that you might be autistic. Which causes those who are looking for evaluations to not be supported by their peers and family. On top of that, it makes having autism look like it's the worst thing you can have to the point my family is hoping I'm schizophrenic instead. I don't want to live in a world where being born with unique pathways in your brain which causes you to see and experience things differently is seen as "worse" than being diagnosed with what's been hailed as the "most debilitating mental illness in the DSM 5".
