I would like to discuss a very simple, but no less important piece of philosophy in relation to events happening and what the true outcome really is.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=byQrdnq7_H0&pp=ygUZYWxhbiB3YXR0cyBjaGluZXNlIGZhcm1lcg%3D%3D The video above is only 2 minutes, but in it holds a great deal of wealth that I believe everyone can benefit from at some point in their lives. It is the story of the chinese farmer as told by Alan Watts and perfectly encapsulates how when we are having an objectivity bad experience, that it may have very beneficial consequences that we do not consider. And vice versa of course. Here is a modern example from personal experience. One day while driving to work I got into a major car accident that totaled my car. I have no lasting damage from this as the car did its job and crushed how it was supposed to in order to protect me. But I was rushed to the ER to make sure I was ok. One morning, years later, I get up to drive to work and notice I have a flat tire. Its before sunrise, its beginning to rain and it's too late to take public transportation as I would be very late so i take an uber. I remember the car accident though, and I couldn't help to think to myself, "if I had a flat tire the day of my accident, the accident wouldn't have happened" which then makes me reflect on the flat tire I now had and wonder if I had just missed an even more devastating event. It really is impossible to tell if an event is truly good or bad as we never quite know the consequences will be until they happen. So if you find yourself having a particularly bad day, think if the consequences allowed you to miss something much worse. Thank you & have a great day. 🧡

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” – Socrates
For those intrigued by Socrates’ call for self-examination, consider exploring Plato’s dialogues, especially “Apology” and “Phaedo,” to gain a richer understanding of Socratic philosophy.
