What's the most useful skill you've gained from therapy?

My therapist calls my tendency to catastrophise / see things in black and white "stinky thinking", and honestly that makes it so much easier to not take my anxiety too seriously!

Mhh, I'd say it's more about "thinking around" all of my supposedly negative traits, and finding what positives they bring. Nothing is so bad that it's not good for something. That way it's also easier to know which you should prioritize in improving.

I learned the idea that you are not your thoughts and emotions. Instead they are a part of you mind. And if you learn and work on making friends with them instead of fighting them you can start to understand why they are there. And if you think of all the energy we waste fighting the anxiety or whatever it is. It makes sense to befriend that part of you and accept it and work with it on the healing journey.
