So I recently tried to have a discussion with another user on here, and one thing I have noticed is that either I am completely wrong, or people just don't actually like to discuss points they make. I believe i know exactly who this person is and have had an unexpected interaction like this with them just this past week...after weeks of normal positive interaction on the platform, they suddenly switched on a topic and became defensive when, like you, I was just asking questions and trying to understand them better. It's pretty ironic to be honest, in saying that "noone wants to grow up and recognise others..." when they are so stuck in their own mindset and unable.to have an actual discussion. This is the type of people you are better off keeping at arm's length. Have "hi, bye" conversations with and nothing more.

Sometimes people have such a deep relationship with their trauma that they look at everything through that lens, and they can only meet you and communicate with you as deeply as they’ve met themselves. This person instantly went into being a victim and stayed there when there wasn’t a genuine reason for it. It was unnecessary. I feel like this is also the type of person that will be like “everyone’s conversation is dry” but is incapable of having anything beyond surface level interaction.

I didn't bother reading past their first reply to you and neither should you have. Of course you need to be on the same page about exactly what you're talking about to have a productive conversation. This person had 0 interest in discussion, they just wanted to lecture you, no worse, preach to you. Arrogantly belittling you for asking questions, not even a lecturer does that. (edited)
