Fantastic advice. I would add to never get married - > until uve gathered enough info that it's no longer a gamble this could potentially take years of getting to know someone, so the healthy approach seems to me to have no intention of getting married but simply be open to the possibility, then take your time and you will know when it's practical to even consider it. If the alternative is to seek marriage, then the want to get married could influence your discernment about whether the person is even indeed capable of being up to the task or worse make you decide prematurely before you have enough information to accurately make an informed decision about it and its to late then, ud already be married and undoing things is technically impossible, the world goes on whether we make good informed decisions or not

Honestly, I can't see the difference between marriage or a long term relationship more than the rights u could get, at least legally. I'd never live with someone without being married.

Exactly. I was married once. It was a complete nightmare from the minute we both said "I do." Never doing that again. It's been almost 8 years since I divorced my ex-wife, and I still haven't changed my mind on the topic of remarriage. I am done with it all. I stopped dating last year, cuz I just don't enjoy that anymore, either. I just want some good genuine friends, or someone who could be a companion, and that is it. Nothing more. (edited)
