Some reading in my spare time...
So, I'm what you call a spiritual man. I'm not tied to any organization of religion per say. so, I do my best to understand the world, the people, and the path I'm on. I feel all the religions of the world hold pieces to the greater picture, as if we are all blind and feeling different parts of this elephant in the room from different vantage points and determining what we are understand, but regardless a little reading today, I mean I've had these books for awhile now, but finally got a little free time today to invest, so... the religion books I was able to start on a couple of pages each of these today and they were the Torah, the Quran, and a book I have on Buddhist teachings and scripture... now, I do also own a kjv Bible, which I read already which in essence is already reading the Torah and some, but I also purchased the Ethiopian bible recently because there's stuff in there that was edited out of the kjv, but also on the list for future reading is the Hindu Vaders which I've skimmed through in ebook format, plus there is so much more to digest out there and contemplate...

I would never suggest that some books are not worth reading, but those you mentioned come pretty close. There are SO many more books with better, healthier words between their pages than those. Read stuff by Sam Harris, Steven Pinker, Richard Dawkins, etc. More wisdom in a few of their insights than in all the religious texts in the world. Human hands solve human problems.

I like how he tried his best to keep his beliefs. But in the end it wasn't possible. The religion never accepted his true self and his love for another man. I can't say I understand him, because I'm a straight girl but I know how it is to feel guilty for the things that are out of your control.
I also think about what he said about God " I spent most of my life waiting for God to love me but then I realized the only thing that matters is that I love God"
