I don’t know how I ended up here. Until a week ago, it felt like everything inside me was calm. It’s not lack of sleep, not PMS, not medication… but I feel ungrounded, completely insecure in a relationship that, to me, was certainty, stability, safety. I send messages, and he doesn’t respond. Suddenly, he appears online, but doesn’t read them. Offline again. Online, doesn’t read. Offline. And I start counting the minutes, the seconds, every blink of the screen feels like a tick-tock in my head. My mind races: he’s prioritizing someone, anyone. And the more I try to rationalize, the more my heart insists: someone is taking the place I wanted to have. I feel like I’m going insane. It wasn’t like this before. But even without religion, even without old habits, I feel a desperate urge to cling to something that gives me security. I’m here, with the screen open, waiting for him to appear. Twenty minutes, maybe more. And I ask myself: what am I so afraid of losing? What am I holding onto so tightly that it hurts this much? And the screen stays dark, my heart races, and I… I just wait.
