How big is your bookshelf?

My Mum tells a story from back, probably in the early 1940's, when she went cycling with her Dad. He would point out homes that were barely more than hovels, but they had a TV antena. TV has always been more expensive than a book. Both for the pocket book and society.

So I seem to be on a videogame books kick lately and I've started reading this. I'm only about a third of the way in and it has already taken off at a bit of a clip in terms of development and technology from normal 1940s stuff to crazy sci-fi stuff in a handful of years in the book. :O
