Why do we like anime series?

I've only recently got passionate about anime, and have noticed a laitmotif with the ones that I like. The main characters have good, even exemplary morals and ethics. They value others lives and exercise compassion, altruism and empathy. I say this after watching Vinland Saga and Demon Slayer. They were both charming. Am now going through Monster, which is puts emphasis on morals and ethics, and the struggle of the main character to be righteous. I've also tried watching Castlevania but gave it up after some episodes. I find it lacks structure, and I fail to identify with any of the characters, nor to look up to them. The characters are simple and the plot is basic. It's like a story that some invented on the fly. They try to give reason for Dracula's doings, in order for the good characters to have purpose. But it feels forced. And there's something about the aesthetics and animations I don't quite like. I should also mention One Punch Man, that although is probably the most comical of the ones I've mentioned, I still think it falls under the same category. The main character acts under some common sense principles of ethics and morals, but loses motivation due to his unstoppable might - thus the comic relief. What is your opinion? What else should I watch? Oh don't make me watch One Piece, that's way too long 😭
