7I was told this is what we are calling it now. I like it. Sounds better that the laundry list of things I deal with daily. Funny thing is, I just thought I was different because I was smarter than most everyone around me. I recently found out...at age 44... that almost nobody thinks like me. I have an IQ around 160...never officially tested. I was in the navy's nuclear program though. I have also all my life been able to separate out the individual parts of my mind. Detach the emotions completely in emergencies or serious situations, spin up alternate versions of myself mentally and have an internal debate in rapid time to make decisions, or just be able to spit out the answer to complicated problems within seconds. After years of observation from my fiance, she asked me a series if questions and then told me straight up that she thinks I have DID. It floored me. There was no way... But upon looking back, I was always the socially awkward kid that never got nuance. I spent my early years being bullied because I was so odd. I spent that time at the mall. Watching people...observing how they interacted. There was the typical abuse at home and whatnot, and it was a partial catalyst... But over time I have observed and practiced interactions with random people that I was able to pass as normal. I guess in the background I always knew I wasn't like others. But when I went deep into myself and asked who was there....there were answering voices. I guess what I have been rambling about is that this neurospicy label is progress. It allows us to not be so stigmatized for what we are and gives us some of our dignity. I may be if several minds about something, but that is something unique that I bring to the table. Get to know ME, and the labels fade away and get replaced with new ones. Gamer...friend...arch nemesis...lover. Neurospicy people will probably make your day a lot more interesting if you give them a chance.
