Still a favorite villain

Never before in my life have I felt so uneasy while playing a videogame. Phasmophobia really makes me feel like someone is watching me. Game is creepy AF. I just stand by the front door of the first house for like 10 minutes every time

I can't play this game alone

The Dead Space Trilogy, not counting the 1st remastered version, I find similar to the Alien Trilogy in that the 1st leaned heavy into horror, the second leaned more towards action with horror elements, and the third…well something got lost.

By no means do I think Dead Space 3 is a bad game though. On the contrary I think it still feels like a Dead Space game that does continue the story and mainly keeps to the core gameplay. It’s the changes that, while understandable to keep things fresh, unfortunately didn’t pan out or click with many fans including me.

Pros (in my opinion)
1. Side Missions- I do actually like the side missions to find more resources as well as add a bit more lore. This idea was implemented into the remake.

2. Weapon crafting & universal ammo-I like that you can mix and match weapon types to give you extra options. I also like that that ammo that is picked up works for all weapons so you don’t need to worry about ammo types while collecting resources.

3. Ability to Dodge Roll- Granted its more often used for some bosses, but when there’s a horde of Necromorphs about to surround you it’s pretty useful to get out of there

Cons (In my opinion):
1. Less scary moments and horror atmosphere- this is less of a con because we had 2 games before, so all in all I think it’s just fatigue. Being set on a planet this time around does lessen it’s scares a bit.

2. Mountain/Ice climbing up or down the walls- it’s real clunky and frustrating.

3. Co-op: In theory a nice idea, but does lessen the horror atmosphere of being on your own. Plus it’s difficult finding someone and having enough time to play and finish the campaign even nowadays. Also John Carver isn’t that interesting a character even solo.

4. Weapon crafting navigating- As much as I like the weapon crafting, navigating and crafting is pretty confusing and you have to be careful what weapon you craft otherwise some resources maybe lost.

5. Unitologists- pro we get to battle them but con because we have a pathetic crouch and their AI isn’t very bright. It’s like trying to be Gears of War and it’s bad at it.

Mix-bag:
Story is good at moments, but pretty out there and hard to swallow even in the ending (not counting DLC though yeah it’s cliffhanger ending not being resolved). Character wise most are allright except John Carver not being interesting and a stupid love triangle between Issac, Ellie, and some other guy that becomes detrimental to their mission.

Overall I definitely don’t mind the game and if I’m in the mood to play the Dead Space trilogy I would still play Dead Space 3 despite’s it changes/additions
