The film isn't as pleasing as anticipated, where the legendary Rastafarian artist Bob Marley is victimized, ironically in a film where he is often addressed as a 'Lion' (Duh!). I am further disappointed by this cinematic take on the legendary Rastafarian artist, who had his roots in a culture which not only took its roots from the Ethiopian culture (the mention of its ruler Halle Selassie) but also Indian culture brought by Indian indentured labourers between 1848 till 1920, like the growing of braids, smoking of cannabis and even incorporating the Hindu mythological characters in the songs. Fun fact, one of Marley's sons was named after the first Caribbean cricketer of Indian descent, Rohan Kanhai. The same cricketer, on whose name, the legendary Indian cricket player Sunil Gavaskar would also name his child. Yet, the film could be watched for its storytelling of how Marley fought off the violence and misery to become a legendary artist.
