Guqin is a traditional string musical instrument of China. It shares some similarities with guzheng also of China, or 'đàn tranh' and 'đàn bầu' of Vietnam. These instruments often have many strings (except đàn bầu, only one string) and players use finger to press to create some missing music notes. Because of pressing while playing, the skin of fingertips often become thicker and tougher, especially for guqin and 'đàn bầu' which their strings are hard, thick to create bass tones. (edited)
