Found this while I was searching for birds on an unmarked trail.
Red Hamiltonichthys sp. tooth
Here is a red Hamiltonichthys sp. fish tooth I found. This tooth is very small, but rare and 306 million years old. It is a deep red due to being replaced by iron. The vein like structures are actually ridges on the tooth to functionally help crush shelled organisms. I included a diagram of the… read more

Here is my 300 million year old fish tooth, Campodus sp. They would be shell crusher fish, specialized in eating invertebrates.

Dinosaur trackway

Trilobite and Snail
Found this large Ameura missouriensis Trilobite and Amphiscapha gastropod housed in a nice chunk of limestone a year ago. Petalodus tooth
Here is my largest fossil fish tooth that I have found. it even contains a bit of a crinoid stem in the root possibly suggesting it was this fishes leftovers. Looks like he needed to floss more!
