❓️Intention vs. Consequence

Does it matter why you do something that is ultimately beneficial? Example. Going to the gym to attract women vs. Going to the gym to be healthier and feel better Both lead to the same outcome, which is better for you. Does it matter why you do it?

I don't see difference in examples. Both examples can be intentions ( going to the gym cuz I want to be healthier is intention aswell) . Also I believe response here depends on your personality . To attract woman just by how I look isn't something which will make me feel like I completely succeed. On other hand making myself healthier sounds like complete success for me.

They both matter but intentions hold a bit more weight. In the gym example, a person that does it for other people’s validation and/or attention/attraction might give up in the beginning or sometime because “the one” still doesn’t notice or they are not achieving the consequence/result that they pictured. As opposed to the other person, since their driving force comes from within the potential is limitless imo.
