I think it applies less on Boo. But this is way too common about everywhere else. Winning an argument doesn't mean you are right. It only means you were better prepared. It's pointless to debate if you want to be right. You'll never know for sure and your little box of truths is never going to match reality, no matter how hard you try. So next time you debate, use this opportunity to earn new perspectives instead. Ask questions. And if your values are challenged, then realize you may have been wrong all this time, and it's never too late to adjust. Or simply agree to disagree. Perspectives aren't always meant to be compatible. But yours isn't better just because your solipsism says so. And for sure, feel free to disagree.

It's true, most debates are utterly pointless, especially online where everyone is entitled to an opinion. Debates tend to attract the kind of people who want to be "right" because they have something to prove, and they will resort to every logical fallacy in the book to prove their point. When someone is argumentative, for the sake of being argumentative, that speaks volumes about their character. And 90 percent of the time, they have nothing of value to say.
