The disposability of men

When considering the statistics that men are 99% of war victims and, depending on the source, a majority to overwhelming majority of suicides. Men are also the majority in workplace deaths. With all of this danger being the responsibility of men, is it any wonder that toxic masculinity had it's heydey? In order to survive those dangers at every turn men had no choice but to become tough and unfeeling. Add to that the very real possibility that a woman can force you to unwittingly raise another man's child. It makes me wonder how men stayed sane at all. Yet this social imperative survives and persists to this day with women ardently defending the idea that it is solely men's responsibility to work dangerous jobs and go to war. Inherent in this problem (and many other men's issues) is a startling and depressing lack of empathy, compassion, and sympathy towards men. What do we do?

I think what I do, as a man living in this world. Is nothing to do with whatever numbers these are. Call me callous, but if suicide stats, workplace deaths, and war victims are apparently almost all men, then I won't upset the status quo. It's been working well so far, and I know I find happiness around anyone in a nontoxic manner. If some numbers make a guy view women differently, I can tell what kind of guy that is. Everyone can be deserving of empathy, compassion, and sympathy if they earn that. But appealing to emotion and painting one group as fully a victim, really shows how one views the other group. Maybe self reflect on how these views came to be?

Bring masculinity back. Support your fellow men in taking charge of their lives. Stop letting feminists tell men how to be men.

My dad was killed before I was born, so was raised by a single mother, and I turned out alright.
