God and free will

If God knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen, that means he already knows every choice you'll ever make in your life. If he lets us make all those choices without influencing us, is that still free will, or just an illusion of free will?

I think that free will is just an illusion, deity or not. Every decision you take and thought you have is predetermined by your experiences, your current state, what your senses perceive, etc. While the complexity of all these parameters together give us the illusion that we have free will, we are not, un reality, different from any other living being, human or not. In fact, you could take a pebble from the floor and do a comparison. The pebble didn't choose to be at the place you picked it from, nor chose to be a pebble, not its shape or composition. While we humans are definitely more complex than a pebble, how we behave, what we do and what we think is really not that different. We are what we are, and going too deep into how reality works can drive someone insane. You can attribute the "engine" that links everything together as a sort of divinity. In any case, this is just an opinion, I hope you find a satisfying answer to your question! (edited)

If your will isn't being infringed, I'd say it's free. It wouldn't be free if you knew what was going to happen and couldn't change it. But since we can't see the future our will isn't infringed even if our actions may be predetermined.

Imagine being able to see all the branches in a tree. When you see a squirrel climbing said tree you know all its possible destinations. Does that knowledge put you in control of said squirrel, probably not. Even if you made said tree you may influence the squirrels decisions but the burden of choice remains on the squirrels.

I think of free will as an impossible goal. No matter how much you will it to happen, you'll never fly in your birthday suit. You have limited free will. So basically, God grants us free will within constraints he has set for us because he knows our limitations better than we do, in order to protect our bodies and minds. Because we're basically babies to him Like if Adam and Eve went flying and running like animals they probably would get crushed by an Eden Rhino(i hear those guys are tough) and died or something I dunno man I'm stoned and agnostic
