You can just ask them why instead of asking everyone else, and quietly writing it down as a vague red flag. I can see one simple reason a lot of people might have, and that is wanting to use an app with a desktop version. Phones aren't the most convenient typing devices.

I agree, but at the same time I have found myself recently wanting to ask people to use other chat apps soon after matching, partially because I have seen them around on the forum, so I feel like I know them, even though I've never talked to them in a one-on-one setting before.
