This Is America
This is America, where they tell you lies, sprinkled in fairy dust. Where women are losing their rights, with no men protecting them within sight. The transgender community in the 11th stage of genocide, with nobody marching by their side. Children going to school in fear, with the possibility of a active shooter being near. Flint Michigan still doesn't have access to clean water, the government doesn't want to help, so why bother. Indigenous people are being slaughtered and chased off their lands, for the people in power have blood on their hands. Kids being yanked from good families, while children are dying here in facilities. The pandemic has highlighted all the negative events, while people in opposition continue to yell threats. We are getting ready to go to war, but not the one we are willing to fight for. We need to take care of our own people, this world has a lot to offer yet so much evil. For the ones who hear the screams of danger, you too should be in anger. This country is failing us all, for the American people will fall. The division of people is more than enough, time to act grown and time be tough. Inflation is destituting families, a child on the corner is just the surface of the tragedies. There is fire within the streets, while they are pouring oil into the creeks. This country isn't what people think it's made of, for its all lies sprinkled in fairy dust. -MATK
