Went on a first date and we both had high expectations because we really vibed on chat and had lots in common. The date went well and we laughed and chatted easily. We even enjoyed some lovely kissing.  Fast forward to a few days later, he doesn’t want to see me again because “My type is thin.” 🤷‍♀️Ah well, I can lose weight if I wanted to, but he ain’t getting any taller. Next!

Idea for a first date.

My favorite first date was a simple dinner date. We both looked at the menu and decided we wanted to go to the restaurant next door so we just got up and left lol. The next restaurant was good but not much better.

We then drove across town to a shopping district and went window shopping. At the end of the date we made out in her car. It was so simple but I really just enjoyed the various spots and energy we both had.

What was your most memorable first date?

A museum could bring out some deep conversations, a dinner and a movie would be good for questions and answers and body language.... I'm quite perplexed over this one, what would you choose?

How do you prepare for a first date when you're in your 50's ? Is it even called a date anymore? 🤷🏻

Every once in awhile went on a first date or when first meeting somebody, I felt the urge to try to hold their hand, but I also realized that this is something that other people see as a sign of familiarity or intimacy. 

Personally, I've always seen it as something affectionate and I tend not to shy away from it. If somebody initiates hand holding with me at least not the first time. If it does make me uncomfortable, I will stand further away so that it can't be initiated and I tend to keep an arm distance if not more from the beginning to keep a respectable personal space. 

That being said, there have been times where I felt an almost instant connection with somebody usually. By the way, they're looking at me or how close they come to stand to me or walk by me while we're chatting. I started thinking about. Is it out of pocket for me to Respectfully ask to hold their hand if our conversation is going. Warmly.

On Matt Walsh's show today, he gave ladies the advice to ask this question on the first date: "What historical period interests you?" For the guys out there, would you be excited to answer this?

After a reason to hang with one of my oldest friends I recently started thinking about what an ideal  would be like at this time of year. And I was thinking that it would start around midday. Possibly a late lunch, possibly right after lunch at a park or something where we can me make a little bit of chit chat, come up with some goofs and probably our first inside jokes and start a walk. Maybe not a super long one, but one that can easily turn into a long one or a winding one either through a park or along a trail. We can make for more in-depth conversation. Go off on tangents and use those as talking points because tangents are the best way. Get those special little details out of somebody that say a lot about their personality.  Ideally it would end in a coffee shop someplace where we can get something warm to drink and continue our conversation and a few callbacks to our early earlier goofs, and maybe some admiring gazes over some light snacks at early sunset before our walk back. Ideally it wouldn't be too dark just enough to lend itself to a little mystery as we raced the approaching cold back to where we started now knowing quite a bit more about each other, maybe even enough to go share a movie and chill session of a wholesome hand squeeze.

I'm so used to going to events or a movie but what would be a good way to shift up a first date, where it makes both parties comfortable, general ideas or specifics are accepted.

So for the first date let's visit a couples counselor and see how long it takes them to realize we don't know each other.

If we work out we got a better idea on how to be together, if we don't someone to advise us on why we won't work out.
