Masculinity VS Vulnerability

Hey everyone, I have a question. And I ask this from the male perspective because I’m still working on my own emotional intelligence and male dominated upbringing. I just got out of a 6 year relationship with my girlfriend and being honest, everyday has sucked since. She was the only one I felt truly able to express myself and not feel “weak” or “awkward” because she was my person. We both had parts to play in our relationship that got us to this point, but ultimately I felt that she was already out the door and seeking someone else who aligned with her aspirations. My question is, how can you feel comfortable being vulnerable and expressive, in a world where we’re taught it’s not the “manly” thing to do. I honestly don’t know if I’ll feel that comfortable with anyone else, but I want to be.

Stopping to listen to the world makes things easier. If you keep repeating behaviors that harm you because "the world" tells you to do so, it only shows that you are conditioned to suffer for an idea that isn't even yours. Even worse when you are aware of this but still worry about others' opinions instead of simply seeking ways to ignore them and be yourself. Express who you are, not who others want you to be. The opposite will only harm you.
