Are You an Ear Rumbler?

Apparently, there's a small number of people that can ear rumble. In other words, they can control their Tensor Tympani muscle located in the ear. This means that an ear rumbler can create a rumbling sound in their ear, or vibrations in the ear. It sounds almost like thunder, or a huge gust of wind. One way you can find out if you can control your Tensor Tympani muscle is to screw up your face really tightly, including your eyes. Did you hear it? More on the Tensor Tympani Muscle: The tensor tympani is a muscle that dampens out louds sounds, like thunderstorms and the sound of your own chewing. When tensed, the muscle is responsible for tensing the eardrum, which dampens vibrations and reduces the perceived loudness of sound. Some people are able to contract it voluntarily when there are no loud sounds to dampen out, and contracting muscles produce vibrations and sounds of their own, which is what you're hearing.
