Did that for a couple games I had no interest in. Somehow still regretted buying them in a steam sale lol.

@Robert I don't think I've ever regretted buying or playing a game.

@Sol I've got over 10k games, I'm not worried about running out of games to play in the 5 or so years I've got left.

@Sol I'm not okay, I have a heart condition that's killed everyone in my family before 45. My estimated life expectancy is around 38-40.

The anticipation can be rough; I feel it. I see the waiting game as an opportunity to decide what's actually worth buying after reviews and gaming news. The games I was undecisive on; I'll either lose interest in, or buy at a cheaper price.

@Robert I'm very particular with that I pick up. Alot of the time I go based on a series or company but know the struggle of price as a console gamer gotta be picky/choosy. The thing is I specialize more in 1 player rpgs and its a rarity to ever just find them at EB and if you don't pre order your copy its like you'll never come across it in the wild. In fairness tho alot of my recently purchased games have been remaster cause living for some nastolgia esq gaming but im like a girl into fashion and wanna play something fresh when it's out lol

@David Rogers I'll agree with you there. I've pre ordered some remasters and remakes. FF7R and Spyro Reignited were my exceptions to my waiting plan. I might do the same for the suikoden remaster.

@Robert 1000% suikoden 1 & 2 collection is on my need list. I played 3 onward so I'm down to get that nastolgia esq gaming and learn some new lore. Last thing I just finished off was that Star Ocean 2 remaster

@David Rogers suikoden I and II are a real treat if you like well written text based stories and deep classical music. The style of the original was 👌 Lots of easter eggs and detail for exploration.

@Robert so because of my love of stories gaming is like reading a book of wanting to know what happpends next. With my addictive personality what feels like maybe a hr or 2 Is actually 5-6hrs lol. I can't play games within a work week if I'm working other wise would throw off my schedule. That being said love the classics because of how indepth stuff is and could care less if it's 8 bit or low version graphics. I lived on the other titles back in the ps2 days so I know I'm in for a field day playing the OG stuff. Outta curiosity what stuff are you actuvley playing these days? I'm assuming since you play the waiting game you have quite the backlog?

@David Rogers Warframe, conan exiles, xbox gamepass games, some random games that I find on sale and have an interest in, games I pre-ordered above, old favorites, and games in my backlog. I have the luxury of owning an entry-level to mid level pc so I kinda have options outside of console.

@Robert oh that's a name I haven't heard in a while (warframe) and that makes more sense. Okay so if you have stuff on PC that's why you can do the waiting game cause you have a bunch of stuff as a buffer before hitting up the titles you wanted to check. I'm mainly a console gamer (playstation) but its consumed my life for like 30 years so can't imagine expanding to other platforms other wise I wouldn't see the light of day lol. Suikoden is like the main thing I'm waiting for cause nothing else really on my want list tho I should do some digging to see what the companies I usually play have been working on. For now when I don't have much to play I rotate the downtime to like Watching movies & animes. Currently just checking out genshjn impact but mainly sign in for daily rewards but nothing active since finished off star ocean

@David Rogers you might like the saikou anime app if you have android. You can sync it with your ani-list and my anime list accounts to keep track of what you watch on there. Also, Xbox game pass works on mobile and pc, it can be a pretty good deal. I can't wait until they port another star ocean to pc personally. I miss playing those when I had a ps4.

@David Rogers slice of life and comedy are some of my favorite genres for palate cleansers. I enjoy adventure and fantasy genres the most. Occasionally I go for suspense, thriller, full action, mystery, sci-fi, or isekai.

They were probably playing other games in that time frame. You don't have to have something day one to enjoy it. And yes, it's absolutely worth it to save money.
