So many uninitiated think those of us who grew up gaming are nostalgic old farts who ignorantly love the games we grew up on over modern work. But to those only getting into gaming today are confused by the notion of the freedoms that come with having physical media that cant be randomly shut down or irrevocably altered by the publisher from growing into that environment. So many tired overworked people or young impressionable minds dont question the ethics of the silly cowboy hat cosmetic they bought for their game they'll put maybe 20 hours into before moving to something else, or the rampant hostage crisis of always online architecture.
