Just wondering what ultimately happens. I didn't pay American Express. They sued me. I still didn't pay. About a year later I get a letter from lawyers from a bill collection agency attempting to collect. In the letter it said, any information they collect will be used to collect the bill. So I ignored the letter. Just wondered if anyone else pushed the limits on not paying a bill? What happened in the end? And in-case you are wondering, yes, my credit blows. I Iive on my paycheck that's it, no credit or loans. (edited)

I never had letters of lawyers, but did receive letters from bill collectors. I eventually stopped receiving those when I moved and didn't change my address publicly, (changed it directly with the people/companies that needed it, not with the post office). In the USA, that'll show up on your credit report for 7 years. After about 4 or 5 of mine I started applying for credit cards and loans, got approved for a very minimal amount to start, but in less than 3 years I had a credit score of over 700. My specific advice would be to check what banks are associated with the credit firm, lawyers office, and such. Avoid those banks! 😁
