Rate the Film: 2016’s The Finest Hours

Where would you rate The Finest Hours? Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions in the comments.

For me: ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2. It’s a good rescue fill overall with solid performances. However in regards to the film it does feel like a run of the mill rescue film. It’s not spectacular, but by no means bad. You’ll still enjoy I think, but for an almost 2hr long film some may think “when do they get to the rescue?” Film does switch what happens on shore with our main lead played by Chris Pine and then to the oil tanker that splits in two during a storm and Casey Afflecks character tries to keep the ship afloat long enough till rescue arrives.

All in all a good film that I think to a degree has fallen under the radar. I do recommend seeing it as it is based on a true story.

I don't think it was this one but I saw a similar movie as a kid. All I remember was some dudes were on a boat and there was a storm. I fell asleep and when I woke up it was over. My stepmom said they all died when I asked what happened. So idk if that is relevant to this but probably not 😁

You made some good points.  Seen it a couple of times.  Thought it was good.  Thought the trailer made it seam more dramatic than it really needed to be.  Like that scene were the wife kept saying ring them in, it wasn't a big part of them film as the preview made it appear.  But overall I liked it.
