Srikanth (Hindi/2024/Netflix) Review
The film is a true winner on all counts and its success on the critical and financial fronts speaks enough. Based on the life of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla (this dude is my age!), the film smartly narrates his story with a limited and meatier cast and story blocks, despite a bit of an off-track romantic angle and also a little 'Shri 420'-ish drag in the second half. A perfect inspirational tale by Tushar Hiranandani, which engages and intrigues you, giving you life lessons that could also be followed by the people 'who can't see' (watch the film to understand this). After a long time, I thoroughly enjoyed the background score in any film. In the cast, Jyothika, Jameel Khan and Sharad Kelkar are great supports, Aleya F provides a mature act and Rajkummar Rao is truly a 'biopic favourite', as he seamlessly gets into the shoes of the real-life character after his prowess (in playing real-life characters) in 'Chittagong' 'Shahid', 'Aligarh', 'Omerta' and then 'Bose: Dead Or Alive' and ends up charming us with a riveting performance.
