some people don’t always send good morning texts they send memes at 3am and disappear for two days they’ll never say i miss you but they’ll send a picture of a cloud that reminded them of you they don’t do flowers they remember your favorite snack and buy two one for you and one in case you’re having a bad day they won’t hold your hand in public but they’ll walk on the side closest to traffic they won’t talk about their feelings but they’ll stay on the call until you fall asleep they don’t say the words directly they just stay they notice the little things like the way your voice changes when you're tired or how you always avoid eye contact when something hurts and when they look at you it’s quiet but everything in them is listening they won’t write you poems but they’ll remember your exact coffee order they’ll show up with your charger when you didn’t even realize you left it behind not everyone loves like a sunrise loud bright full of promises some love like a shadow that never leaves your side soft steady never asking for attention but always there when you need them most and maybe that’s the kind of love that lasts the one that doesn't need grand gestures just presence and a quiet loyalty that feels like home
