Insomnia is just one of many symptom of adhd. You probably would have other bigger problems than just sleep. If insomnia is your only complaint, I wouldn't jump to ADHD. There are soooo many factors that can interrupt our sleep cycles. My youngest daughter has ADHD, which was apparent to me from the time she was 6 months old (although it couldn't be formally diagnosed until the age of 3 in my state), and it effects far more than sleep. I wish people would stop trying to label themselves and just go see a doctor. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Google science of chronotype. Night owl inclinations are even more strongly associated with creativity folks than ADHD. So you’ll encounter a lot of creatives (like yourself) with both. Learning about the science of creativity & typical working/producing characteristics of highly creative people may illuminate / help out a great deal in how a lot of typical work life isn’t set up to accomode creatives as standard. And that doesn’t mean you’re malfunctioning. Just that you may be experiencing a poor fit? You may find leaning into / arranging life towards what’s normal for creatives produces less friction between your gene expression and the economic realities of capitalism. E.g (as a potential goal to consider) switching from ‘manager schedule’ type job to ones which can accommodate more of a ‘maker’s schedule’. Many night owls do well adopting a super early bird approach, while they have to work in normal hour jobs. I.e geting up at the ‘click point’ that works best somewhere between 4-5:30am so they enjoy a chilled out, creative morning and nicely awake by (lunchtime) 9am start of wrk. they arrive at lit early afternoon ish, when office productivity is traditionally at its lowest. Have a play. See what unconventional approaches reveal useful benefits xx (edited)

I have ADHD which can cause insomnia, however it isn't the only sole symptom. I used to know nothing about myself until I started researching disorders, gender identities, and sexualities. It opened my mind to the possibility that I'm broken not just from trauma, but because I don't know myself the way I need to
