I have been single for a long time that I've come close to accepting that I would remain single for the rest of my life. I've had the freedom to do anything I want, to go wherever I want, and to be whoever I want. But I realized that deep down, I still yearn to be cared for and to be loved by the right person. I still want to go on coffee dates and late night drive-thrus. I still want to go on road trips and chase hundreds of sunsets with our favorite songs on. I still want the afternoon/night movie marathons on the couch. I still want the back hugs and forehead kisses and the funny inside jokes. I still want the surprise gifts and deep talks about life while playing our favorite video game or playing scrabble. I know I have so much love to give and I'll keep on believing that somebody out there is yearning the same innocent, romantic type of love. The type that makes your soul feel alive. But for now, I'll wait. And I'm hoping that when we meet each other, we'll know. Lots of love, Anne 💜

Your search for a person you hope exists but don't know exactly who they are is really relatable. I actually just wrote some prose about such a person going on this romantic quest to find their soulmate. It got me thinking about how you would recognize them. It made me think about if they would recognize you. It also made me consider the "right person, wrong time" idea. That maybe you met your soulmate but one, or both, of you weren't ready for that relationship just yet.
