Deny access at times

Some people want your forgiveness not because they're concerned about hurting you but because they hurt themselves by losing the benefits that came with the relationship. You will know they're not concerned about your feelings because they will rush past accountability and mending the mess they caused. They will get spiteful when you insist on a conversation about what happened and how to prevent a repeat. They will get angry at your boundaries and term them as holding grudges. They will expect you to trust them with the same access as they had when they betrayed you. They will want immediate restitution without any inconvenience. They're not sorry. They're just sad. No, they won't change their behaviour. They just want a change of climate back to comfort. You don't matter to them except only as an accessory to their comfort. They treat your rights with contempt. They smirk at your freedom to speak up and express your feelings. Your only solution is to give forgiveness but deny access. Let them win the access back so that they can learn in the process. Withdraw your emotions from them. Pull back your heart and let them feel your absence. Once more, when ego has seized people and they have superiority complex over you, never argue with them. Always talk to them in the only language that ego understands- consequences. If you're too afraid to administer consequences, retreat and unpack your fears in a private chamber. This is a matter of salvaging your dignity and your mental peace. Regain your courage until you can detach from such people without self-doubt and neediness. Only then will they ever treat you with love and honour.
