If the world ever got to the point on your lifetime where cybernetic enhancements were a new norm and the world plunged into a cyberpunk-esque society, would you be for it? Or would you rebel against it? Why? Me personally, I'm all for it. It would be absolutely sick as hell if we had access to all of these awesome upgrades that we could utilize. I would mostly love to replace my eyes so I can actually see correctly cause I have 100% astigmatism in both of my eyes and it is AWFUL! So, 8k resolution eyes would be amazing! However, I do understand that some people would have issues with cybernetic enhancements for moral reasons. I would love to hear your thoughts and what you would do if you were able to replace parts of yourself.

One little detail, big corps that would provide these things would probably do what GAFAMs do today, which is having lots of ways to gather data from you and sell or give that data to a lot of different entities so, with each upgrade, it would be yet another way to gather information on you or to even impose restrictions on you.

When you put it that way, it makes sense. I mean I see a lot of people who lost the ability to walk because of old age or bad circumstances. But wouldn't it be cool to have cybernetic exoskeleton legs that with a thought we can walk and or run. Sure why not (Japan already has it and it can help normal people carry a load 20% heavier to what a person can handle). Meaning if you can carry 100 lbs with the added exoskeleton you can now carry 120 lbs. But when it gets to the extreme like upgrading your ears, changing the color of your eyes 👀, things of that nature (pun not intended). That doesn't sit well with me. And then I begin to question do we really love ourselves? We would be no different for those who go under the knife to try to be perfect. This actually makes me think of the movie: Gattaca, Alita Battle Angel, and the MGS game Raiden. A question I have for you, take the the the USS Iowa. If we constantly refit the battle ship, replace the outside and inward parts. Can we still say that is still the same ship as before? Now for us humans, it's hard to place concrete evidence to what is a soul or a Consciousness. If we transfer our minds to a synthetic being are we who we believe we're? Good movies to watch is the Creator, Bicentennial Man, also a shojo Anime by the name of Chobits. I forgot which movie but Apple Seed also explores this. (edited)

I'd be all for it too! I'd definitely want a camera in my eye to take pictures without needing to take out my phone. Also having irl subtitles might be really useful too. Don't want to go too overboard tho like in cyberpunk edgerunners, and I'd be worried about someone hacking or blocking out my senses or shoving ads in my face😅.
