“Could there be anything more addictive than newspapers in the future?” wondered the desperate housewife while trying to catch her husband´s attention as she sipped some tea early in the morning. It was crystal clear that their honeymoon had been left behind a long time ago. She had been attracted to books, especially novels, from a very young age. Actually, she had been addicted to some books However, at present she cannot come to terms with the fact that newspapers are stealing her husband from her. This was not something new. In fact, this couple had been constantly arguing about the usefulness of newspapers. These arguments increased over time until one morning, after preparing breakfast, her face blushed with fury and unable to control her emotions, she claimed “you buy 3 newspapers every single day coming up with the pretext of contrasting information but what you really want is to ignore me” At this moment, she questioned how such a highly ornamented creation as medieval books were could be transformed by the printing press into simpler yet more addictive means of entertainment. Meanwhile, her husband, ignoring her antics, continued reading deeply immersed in the giant text columns of an article whose title was ironical to a certain extent: “Bad communication”, which seemed to be reprehending him for his behavior. Suddenly, letters started rendering illegible as if they were melting while the texture of his newspaper became humid by some unknown liquid substance. Upon looking up, he realized what had happened. His wife had decided to spill her tea over the pages in an attempt to show her growing unease. From that moment onwards, the wife took a drastic measure: she hid her husband´s newspapers under her mattress.
