Dangerous is an overstatement but yes it can become unrealistic and as others have said lead to disappointment, unless it's used for fun and astetics and not as a realistic view of whoever is using the filter I say.. well, it's a filter, but me personally now on this app if i see someone with filters on all their pictures I'm out because to me I don't see the truth. I myself have a a filter on one of mine but it's black and white 🤷🏽♂️ besides that natural is the way to go haha.. either way, use filters for fun and keep it that way, there's already enough deception going on in the world

If they're presented as "reality" then yes. It creates both unrealistic expectations and self-image issues. Personally, I like to use them artistically - it is blatantly obvious when I filter and alter a picture because I go absolutely bananas on it 😂 I have a couple in my profile, and I'd certainly hope folks wouldn't assume I am some sort of humanoid hydra 😂 Don't mind the shiny elf, but boy would ppl be disappointed..
