"Gacha" Games vs "Real" Games

What's everyone's opinions? Are mobile/gacha games actual games or just cash grabs? Did the mobile/gacha game industry ruin real games? Personally, I started out on the GameBoy Advance, so "mobile" gaming has always kinda been my jam. Just being able to play on the go and wherever I'm at is just so convenient.

When full price games are filled to the brim with microtransactions and loot boxes, it doesn't make a lot of sense to criticise free to play games with gacha elements. Though, it also depends on the quality of the games too. There are a few mobile/gacha games that are good quality ones.

Don’t care for mobile games and all the mucrostransations associated with a lot if them. Don’t care for gacha games either, but it makes sense if the game is free-to-play, they have to make there money somewhere. What I hate the most are games that you pay for that include free-to-play mechanics, like loot boxes, battle passes, and gacha mechanics😡

I think it really depends on the reason the game is made. Some are there to provide a fun experience to the consumer. Others are there to incentivize habit-forming, addictive behavior to funnel up as much money as possible for the least amount of effort.

Everyone forgets that valve and tf2 started loot boxes. So if anyone ruined gaming, its them. Which is ironic cause 90% of their games are absolute bangers. I definitely think that monetization of games has become way too aggressive though, and kinda hate it.
