David Bowie. Because Bowie is hands down one of the best songwriters there ever was. Did you know that he was one of the guys who was asked to translate Claude François’s hit Comme d’habitude, and that Paul Anka was preferred, which gave us My Way? Bowie was so vexed he told himself "Surely I can do better than this" and he came up with no Less than Life on Mars?, one of the best song there ever was, which beginning are precisely the same chords as My Way? This song contains twenty-four different chords, which is unprecedented for a rock song, which usually have three or four. So, yeah, Bowie. I wish I had discovered him sooner and seen him in concert, it must’ve been a blast. (And I’m not saying this because my first name is also David, in case there’s any suspicion).
